The short answer
Grade 4 is the first year Pakistan's curriculum teaches General Science as a subject of its own. It covers life processes, ecosystems and food chains, communicable disease, states of matter, forms of energy, forces and motion, the skeleton, Earth's resources, weather and climate, the solar system and circuits.

The year science becomes its own subject
Under Pakistan's Single National Curriculum, science content for Grades I to III lives inside General Knowledge. At Grade 4 it separates out as General Science with its own chapters, and the change is more than administrative.
Content that was previously a set of interesting facts now has structure: organisms are grouped by shared life processes, matter is organised into states, energy is traced from one form to another. Students who found science easy when it was naming things sometimes wobble here, and it is a change in the demand rather than in their ability.
Heavier does not mean faster
Drop a stone and a sheet of paper and the stone lands first, so the rule writes itself. It survives because it agrees with almost everything a nine-year-old has ever watched fall.
Crumple the paper into a ball and drop it against the stone again. Same paper, same mass, very different result — which forces the conversation onto air resistance and away from weight, and gives the student something they saw rather than something they were told.
Weather, climate, and what a food-chain arrow means
Two small precision errors do a disproportionate amount of damage this year. Weather is what today is doing; climate is what the years do on average, and a wet week is not evidence about either.
The food-chain arrow is the second. Students read it as 'eats', which puts it backwards — the arrow points from the eaten to the eater because it tracks where the energy goes. Getting that right at nine makes Grade 8 ecology considerably easier.

What science should a Grade 4 student know?

Is Grade 4 when science becomes a separate subject in Pakistan?

My child says heavy things fall faster. How do I show otherwise?
Drop a flat sheet of paper against a stone, then crumple the same sheet into a ball and repeat. The paper has not changed mass but now falls with the stone, which moves the explanation onto air resistance without anyone having to be told they were wrong.
