Where the centres are, and why there is no list to look up

The only current list is the one inside registration itself. Create the College Board account, choose a date, enter your city, and the search returns the centres available for that date with their remaining seats. Do that before you decide which date you are aiming at, not after.

This is also why the advice to register early is not filler. It is not the deadline that runs out; it is the seats near you.

The ID rule that catches Pakistani students

College Board publishes country-specific ID rules, and for students testing in Pakistan the acceptable documents are a valid passport bearing your name, photograph and signature, or a valid Pakistan national identity card. If you travel to another country to test, the passport is mandatory — a national identity card is only ever accepted in the country that issued it.

The complication is age. A CNIC is issued at 18, and most SAT candidates are 16 or 17. College Board's wording names a national identity card without specifying which document a minor should present, and test-day ID is not a good place to discover the answer.

The safe course is a passport, applied for early. Every other part of SAT registration can be done in an evening; a passport cannot.

Dates, deadlines and the Saturday-only rule

Since the test went digital, College Board publishes one set of weekend dates that applies to US and international students alike, with registration closing 15 days before each date. That is later than families expect and much later than the point at which good centres fill.

College Board's international testing policies state that Sunday testing is not available in Pakistan or India. Elsewhere, Sunday administrations exist for students who cannot test on a Saturday; here they do not. If a Saturday is impossible, the answer is a different date.

Score release runs roughly a fortnight after the test, which is what actually governs planning. Working backwards from a university deadline means counting the score release, not the test date.

What happens between registering and test morning

You take the digital SAT on your own laptop or tablet running Bluebook, or on a device borrowed from College Board — and the borrowing request closes earlier than ordinary registration. Install Bluebook, complete exam setup, and take at least one full-length practice test inside the app so that nothing about the interface is new on the day.

Print the admission ticket. Charge the device fully the night before, and bring the charger anyway. An approved calculator is allowed, though Bluebook has Desmos built in and most students end up using it.

Everything above is administration. It is worth doing carefully precisely so that on the Saturday the only thing you are thinking about is the questions.
