The United States spans six hours of offset from Pakistan — roughly PKT−9 to PKT−15 — and most of it observes daylight saving from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November. Permanent daylight saving is not law: the Sunshine Protection Act passed the House in July 2026 but has not passed the Senate, so clocks still change. For American students who need a weekday evening slot, we open a dedicated early-morning Pakistan block: 06:00–09:00 PKT is 20:00–23:00 the previous evening on the East Coast.

Where our block actually lands in the US

We should be direct about this, because a page that implies a 04:00 class is convenient is worthless. The United States is the poorest time-zone fit of the fourteen markets we teach into, and the offset is not a single number — it spans six hours across the country.

Our published weekday block of 14:00–22:00 PKT arrives in the American small hours. On the East Coast that is 04:00–12:00 in winter and 05:00–13:00 in summer. On the West Coast it is 01:00–09:00, or 02:00–10:00 in daylight time. Almost none of that is a class a school-age child can take.

The slots that do work, and the ones that do not

The usable part of the published timetable is its tail. A 22:00 PKT class is 12:00 noon Eastern in winter and 13:00 in summer, and 09:00 or 10:00 on the West Coast. That suits homeschooling families, students on a half-day or block schedule, and West Coast students taking a class before school. It does not suit a Grade 9 student in New Jersey with a normal 08:00 to 15:00 school day.

Weekends are better but still narrow. Our 20:00 PKT weekend finish is 10:00 Saturday morning Eastern, so the final two hours of that block are genuinely bookable on the East Coast.

For everyone else, we open hours outside the published block. A dedicated 06:00–09:00 PKT slot lands at 20:00–23:00 the previous evening on the East Coast, and 17:00–20:00 on the West Coast — an ordinary weekday evening. That is the pattern we would recommend to a US family who wants a weekday routine, and it is arranged individually rather than picked from the standard timetable.

There is no American curriculum to teach to

Under the Every Student Succeeds Act each state sets its own academic standards, and the Secretary of Education is expressly prohibited from mandating or even encouraging any particular set. Forty-six states adopted the Common Core in full or modified form, four never did, several repealed it, and many rebranded it — New York's Next Generation Learning Standards among them.

The practical effect for mathematics is smaller than it sounds: most states' content is still recognisably Common Core-derived, and the sequence a Grade 8 student meets in Texas is not far from the one in Illinois. But the assessment attached to it is different in every state, so we plan against the exam a student is sitting rather than against a national scheme that does not exist.

SAT preparation is where our timetable and the US calendar meet

The Digital SAT runs 2 hours 14 minutes across two adaptive sections, with a calculator permitted throughout the Math section and the Desmos graphing tool built into Bluebook. Because it adapts between modules rather than question by question, performance on the first module of each section sets which second module — and which score band — becomes reachable.

That is a trainable thing, and it does not require a weekday evening slot. SAT preparation runs 90 minutes, two to three times a week, in groups of up to six, and it is the programme most of our US students take because weekend and late-tail slots suit an admissions timetable better than a school-night one.

AP examinations fall in two weeks in May — 4 to 8 and 11 to 15 May in 2026 — with the peak preparation season running February to April. Morning papers start between 08:00 and 09:00 local time, so a student's final week of preparation has to be scheduled around a body clock, not just a syllabus.

How we work with US families

We would rather have a smaller American roll booked into slots that work than a larger one booked into slots that quietly get cancelled. So the first conversation with a US family is about the clock, before it is about the programme.

The free demo class is scheduled at the time a family would actually attend each week, not at whatever is convenient for us. If the only workable slot turns out to be one neither side can sustain, we say so in that session.
