The window, in Singapore time

Three hours, fixed for ever. Singapore Standard Time is UTC+8 and Pakistan Standard Time is UTC+5, and neither country has any daylight saving to complicate it, so a slot booked in January is the same slot in July. Add three hours to any Pakistani time on our timetable and you have the Singapore one.

Technically our weekday window runs to 01:00 SGT. In practice we will not put a school-age student in a class at midnight, so the usable end of the day is around 21:00.

• 17:00 SGT = 14:00 PKT — the earliest weekday slot
• 18:00 SGT = 15:00 PKT
• 19:00 SGT = 16:00 PKT — the most requested
• 20:00 SGT = 17:00 PKT
• 21:00 SGT = 18:00 PKT — the latest we would place a school-age student
• Saturday and Sunday: 13:00–23:00 SGT, with the afternoon fully available

How that sits against a Singapore school day

Singapore schools start early, typically around 07:30, and finish in the early to middle part of the afternoon, with co-curricular activities running on some days into the late afternoon. A student is usually home, fed and free somewhere between 16:00 and 18:00 depending on the day and the CCA schedule.

Our window opens at 17:00, which lands almost exactly where that free time begins. That is a better fit than it sounds, and it is why Singapore is one of the more comfortable markets we teach into — the offset happens to run in the student's favour rather than against it.

What is not available is anything before school. 08:00 in Singapore is 05:00 in Pakistan, and no arithmetic changes that. If a family's preferred pattern is an early-morning session before the school day, we are not the right provider and we would rather say so at the enquiry than at the demo.

Booking around the Singapore school year

Singapore runs a January-to-November school year in four terms grouped into two semesters. In 2026 the year ran from 2 January to 20 November: Term I from 2 January to 13 March, Term II from 23 March to 29 May, Term III from 29 June to 4 September and Term IV from 14 September to 20 November.

The gaps between them are where intensive work fits: a week in March, four weeks from late May to late June, a week in September, and then six weeks from 21 November to the end of the year. The four-week June break is the natural place for a serious block of catch-up, and the six-week year-end break is where students moving up a level get their head start.

One honest caveat about holidays. The clock does not relax when school stops. Even in the June break, a Singapore student's first available slot on a weekday is still 17:00, because that is when our teaching day begins. Holiday intensives here are built out of weekend afternoons and weekday evenings, not out of mornings.

Which syllabus we can actually teach you

We teach Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580, 0980 and 0607), Edexcel and AQA GCSE Mathematics, Digital SAT preparation, and school-level mathematics, science and English for grades 1 to 10. Those are the things we do properly.

The Singapore national route is the Singapore-Cambridge GCE, with Elementary Mathematics and Additional Mathematics as separate subjects. The content overlap with IGCSE Extended is large but it is not a match: Additional Mathematics goes into differentiation and integration that IGCSE does not require, and the paper structure, the phrasing and the mark schemes differ from the international syllabuses even where the mathematics is the same.

So tell us at the demo which one your child is sitting. If it is Elementary Mathematics, the overlap is close enough that a tutor working from the Singapore syllabus and papers can teach it well. If it is Additional Mathematics and you want somebody who has taught that specific syllabus repeatedly, say so and let us answer honestly rather than optimistically. SAT preparation, by contrast, is identical wherever the student sits, and it is a growing reason Singapore families come to us at all.
