Work the arithmetic and the question answers itself unhelpfully. Our last weekday class is 22:00 PKT. In winter that is 12:00 noon in New York, 11:00 in Chicago, 10:00 in Denver and 09:00 in Los Angeles. Pushing the tutor to 23:00 PKT buys one more hour of American lunchtime.
The American after-school evening, roughly 16:00 to 21:00 local, falls between about 02:00 and 07:00 the following morning in Pakistan. The two evenings do not overlap and no amount of stretching either end will make them. Any provider who answers this question with a slightly later slot has not done the sum.
So the clock wraps round instead
A morning in Pakistan is the previous evening in America, and that is where US teaching actually happens. We run a dedicated early block, 06:00–09:00 PKT, outside the published timetable and staffed by tutors who start early rather than by tutors who have stayed up.
Read as an American Monday evening, a Tuesday morning in Pakistan looks like this, on US standard time. Between the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November every line moves an hour later except Arizona and Hawaii, which do not change their clocks.
- Eastern: 06:00–09:00 PKT Tuesday = 20:00–23:00 Monday
- Central: 19:00–22:00 Monday
- Mountain, and Arizona all year: 18:00–21:00 Monday
- Pacific: 17:00–20:00 Monday
- Alaska: 16:00–19:00 Monday

Which end of the block suits which coast
The staircase in that list is the useful part. An east coast family wants the earliest hour of the Pakistani morning, 06:00 or 07:00 PKT, because that lands at 20:00 or 21:00 their time. A Pacific family wants the latest, 08:00 or 09:00 PKT, which is 17:00 or 18:00 for them, straight after school rather than late at night.
One tutor can therefore teach New York and then Los Angeles in a single Pakistani morning, in that order, which is why the block exists as a block rather than as scattered favours. It also means a west coast family has the better deal: their slot is an ordinary late afternoon, while an east coast student is working at nine in the evening.
The weekday name is what people get wrong
A class at 06:00 on Tuesday in Lahore is 20:00 on Monday in Boston. Both descriptions are correct and they name different days. The family writes Monday in the diary, the timetable says Tuesday, and everything is fine until somebody uses a day name in a message about moving the lesson.
Every confirmation for a US family names both dates and both times. It reads as fussy and it is the single change that removed almost all of our missed North American lessons, because the error was never the hour.
The easy option nobody asks about
Our ordinary weekend hours, 10:00–20:00 PKT, are 00:00–10:00 Eastern on the same calendar day in winter. The usable slice is the last two hours, 18:00–20:00 PKT, which is 08:00–10:00 on a Saturday or Sunday morning in New York. No special block and no early start for anybody.
For the west coast the same two hours are 05:00–07:00, which is not a reasonable thing to ask of a teenager, so Pacific families stay on the weekday evening block. And for SAT students specifically, a Saturday morning is worth more than the convenience: the test itself is sat on a Saturday morning, and practising a three-hour paper at the hour you will actually take it is not a small detail.

Yes. Central time is eleven hours behind Pakistan in winter, so 19:00 on a Monday in Houston is 06:00 on Tuesday in Lahore, at the start of our early block. In summer the gap narrows to ten hours, so the same lesson becomes 07:00 PKT and the Pakistani tutor gets an extra hour in bed.
Does a tutor really teach at six in the morning?
Yes, as a scheduled block rather than an exception. It is a normal working hour for someone whose day starts early, and it is deliberately capped at three hours so that nobody is teaching a 06:00 class and a 21:00 class in the same day. That would be worse for the students than for the tutor.
Which US time zone is easiest to schedule?
