Australia is ahead of Pakistan by 3 hours in Perth and 5 to 6 hours on the east coast. Australian daylight saving runs over the southern summer, from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April, and only New South Wales, the ACT, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania observe it — Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory do not. Western Australia is a flat UTC+8 with no clock changes, which makes Perth the one Australian market where our timetable holds still and lands well.

Perth works. The east coast mostly does not

Australia is ahead of us, which means our teaching day runs into the Australian night rather than the Australian morning. How badly depends entirely on the state, and the difference is large enough that treating Australia as one market would be dishonest.

In Perth our 14:00–22:00 PKT block is 17:00–01:00 AWST. The first four hours cover 17:00 to 21:00 local — exactly the after-school and evening window when Australian students actually do tutoring — and because Western Australia does not observe daylight saving, it never moves.

In Sydney and Melbourne the same block is 19:00–03:00 in standard time and 20:00–04:00 during daylight saving. A class starting at 14:00 or 15:00 PKT is a 19:00 or 20:00 start in Sydney, which is workable. Anything after about 17:00 PKT is past 22:00 on the east coast, and we do not offer it to school-age students.

Western Australia is the one clean fit

Perth is three hours ahead of Pakistan on a flat UTC+8 with no daylight saving at all, which means two useful things at once. The Perth after-school evening sits inside our first four teaching hours, and the conversion never changes — no spring re-check, no autumn re-check, no confusion in the weeks when the east coast has moved and we have not.

That is why WACE is the Australian qualification our schedule fits without compromise. The 2026 ATAR written examinations run 28 October to 19 November, with personalised student timetables released from 8 September, and the whole preparation season falls in slots that work for both sides.

What we offer Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane families

The earliest slots we run, and weekends. A 14:00 PKT class is 19:00 in Sydney during standard time — an ordinary evening. A 15:00 PKT class is 20:00, which is late but reasonable for a Year 11 or 12 student. Beyond that the numbers stop working, and we say so rather than filling the slot.

Weekends are the better answer for east-coast families. Our weekend block starts at 10:00 PKT, which is 15:00 on a Saturday afternoon in Sydney, and the first five hours of it run to 20:00 local. That is a genuine choice of times rather than a single squeezed option.

Australian daylight saving makes the weekday picture worse for four months of the year, from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April, because the east coast moves an hour further ahead while we stay still. That period overlaps the HSC and VCE examination season exactly, so we plan east-coast Year 12 support around weekends from the start rather than discovering the clash in October.

• 14:00 PKT = 19:00 Sydney AEST, 20:00 AEDT — the latest reliable weekday start we recommend
• 15:00 PKT = 20:00 Sydney AEST — workable for senior students
• 17:00 PKT and later = 22:00 or later on the east coast — not offered to school-age students
• Weekends: 10:00–15:00 PKT = 15:00–20:00 Saturday and Sunday in Sydney and Brisbane

Year 12 is a different exam in every state

A Year 10 student anywhere in Australia is broadly on ACARA Version 9.0 content. A Year 12 student in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth is sitting four different syllabuses, on four different timetables, with four different assessment structures behind them.

Queensland only moved to external examinations in 2019, and external assessment there is worth 25% of most General subjects but 50% across two papers in most Mathematics and Science subjects. NSW runs 123 written HSC exams over an 18-day window. Victoria sits the GAT mid-year, in June, separately from the November written papers.

So we ask the state before the year level. Tutoring sold by year level alone is tutoring that has not read the syllabus a student is actually examined on.

How we work with Australian families

Most of our Australian work is mathematics through the international-curriculum programme, one-to-one at 60 minutes, and our Grade 9–10 programme for students in the Year 9 to Year 10 band where ACARA content is common nationally.

The demo class is scheduled at the time a family would actually attend each week — for a Sydney family that means an early-evening slot at our end of the day, not a mid-afternoon one that would be 23:00 for them. If the honest answer is that only weekends work, we say that in the first conversation.
